Darbonne Water System (North & South) would like to let our customers know it has been determined that all of our service lines and service lines serving our customers are classified as “Non-lead”. Darbonne Water System (North & South) have no lead, galvanized requiring replacement, or lead status unknown service lines, no known lead connectors or no unknown connectors.
Darbonne Water (North & South) has determined this through customer contact, installation records, construction and/or plumbing permits, maps of the distribution system, was well as our lead and copper sample plans. As well as historical records on each service connection, meter installation records, and meter replacement records. We also used the official effective date of the Lead Ban in Louisiana as September 20, 1988.
Darbonne Water System did visual inspection where we were not able to locate records or contact customers. During visual inspection, we were able to classify the service line and/or the customer line as “non-lead”. In a few cases we used excavation/physical verification. Darbonne Water (North & South) also used Interviews and questionnaires with our engineers and experienced system staff.
After all of this research and work, we were able to classify all service lines as Non-lead.
